First United Methodist Church of Redding

Redding First United Methodist Church is a downtown church committed to being love in action. We're a church deeply connected to our community! In just the past few months, we are incredibly grateful for:

• The hundreds of people who attend various addition recovery groups each week at our church because we offer low-cost meeting spaces from early in the morning to late at night. These people are “repentance” in action, powerful examples of the dedication and hard work required to walk away from what prevents us from loving God, ourselves, and each other.
• The families who attended this year’s Trunk or Treat event and were able to enjoy hours of fun together at no cost. That’s a blessing for families on tight budgets.
• The 30+ mentally and physically disabled guests who attend each month’s Inclusive Ministries dinner. Our singing, conversation, and homemade meals give them joy beyond their ability to describe.
• The 30+ families who call Faithworks and the Wesley Neighborhood home. Our church closely partners with these transitional and low-income housing programs which have helped hundreds of unhoused families, veterans and others in need begin to rebuild their lives and give their children brighter futures.
• Our new mural which serves as a point of conversational connection with people unaware of our faith, our values, or our community involvement.
• The children at Cypress Elementary School supported through our volunteer tutors and annual Christmas Giving Tree.

These are just a few of the many ways our church has and continues to impact our community by putting love into action. Unfortunately, our roof is in desperate need. With your generous support, we will build on these and other ministries throughout the coming year.
