North State Giving Tuesday is an online networking and giving event that provides nonprofit organizations the opportunity to gain exposure and start relationships with new donors. Dollars raised help fill gaps as nonprofits may use funding for unrestricted needs to continue their good work in the community they serve! We invite you to join us with the collective goal to raise as much money as possible for participating organizations on NSGT day 12/3/24. To extend the giving window (and the fun!) we open Early Giving two weeks before NSGT.

Who can participate in NSGT as a donor? Any individual may donate. Donations through NSGT are tax deductible. Contributions may be made via credit, debit, and ACH transfer.
How do I get a tax receipt? All donations through NSGT are tax-deductible. Upon successful processing of your donation, your tax receipt is emailed to you immediately. CFNS holds all donated funds prior to distributing to the named nonprofit and your tax receipt will be issued under the EIN of CFNS 68-0242276. If you misplace this email, you can view your giving history and receipts by logging into your free donor account or request a duplicate receipt by emailing support@mightycause.com
Do I need an account to donate? No, you do not need to create an account to donate. However, if you plan to give multiple times during North State Giving Tuesday creating a free donor account means you only have to enter your credit card information once. Your account also collects your tax receipts in one location, enables you to track your donations, review the nonprofits you support, and plan for future giving.

Transparency in giving - We believe in transparency around the cost of fundraising. That's why we don't hide the processing fee for gifts, why we offer the option for donors to add a little extra to their gifts to help offset the fee, and why we share more about exactly why this fee is necessary. Historically, over 75% of all donors chose to help offset processing fees so nonprofits received the full-intended donation. Donations made through the online platform are received by the Community Foundation, reconciled, and then issued to participating nonprofits as a grant. Grant checks are mailed no later than 12/19/24
NSGT Fee Breakdown: 5.75% per transaction (3% tech platform provider, 2.2% card/bank processors, 0.55% NSGT organizers for payment reconciliation, grant processing, and admin handling)
