Update #2

Update posted 1 month ago

Hello!

This year, I proudly accepted the role of Program Manager for the Family Resource Center here in Scott Valley. Serving such a beautiful and rural area, our Center’s reach extends across seven small towns, some over an hour away. I am dedicated to bringing essential resources and outreach to these outlying communities, and your support can help make that possible.

Our Center is undergoing exciting changes as we work to better meet the needs of families, teens, and seniors in our community. For example, we are reimagining our toddler area to create a more engaging and enriching space. To do this, we are in need of new sensory toys, musical instruments, and early learning activities that will support young children in their development.

In addition, we recently established a combined Senior/Teen room, which we hope to transform into a welcoming, multi-generational hub. To enhance this space, we are seeking support to provide:

  • New board games, such as backgammon, cribbage, and puzzles with locking pieces

  • An updated SMART TV and DVD player for educational and recreational programming

Your generosity will directly impact our ability to bring these improvements to life. By contributing, you will help us create spaces where families, teens, and seniors can connect, learn, and thrive.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the important work we do at the Family Resource Center. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we can ensure that every corner of Scott Valley has access to the resources and support it needs.

With gratitude,

Christine "Stina" Griffin

Program Manager

Family Resource Center of Scott Valley

Dear Friend and Valued Community Member,

The Holiday Season begins with Thanksgiving, where we reflect on the many things for which we are grateful...

The Scott Valley Family Resource Center has been grateful for the opportunity to be of service to thousands of individuals, families and children in our community. Again this year, we are fortunate to be part of a global, on-line movement to provide people with the opportunity to give to the causes that most inspire them. North State Giving Tuesday, hosted by Community Foundation of the North State, is our biggest fundraising drive of the year.  On December 3rd, from 6 am-8 pm we invite you to go on-line at northstategives.org and donate to the Scott Valley Family Resource Center. Donors can schedule their donations for their favorite nonprofit now (https://www.northstategives.org/organization/Scott-Valley-Family-Resource-Center). Early giving starts November 19, 2024.

Scott Valley Family Resource Center offers a multitude of services including highly successful parenting education and child development programs, healthcare access, Medicare and Veterans support services, monthly literacy promotion, CalFresh and Medi-Cal enrollment, children’s book distribution and mental health prevention programs, just to name a few.

Scott Valley Family Resource Center also serves as a host site for the AARP SCSEP job training program for older adults, providing the opportunity to gain new skills to re-enter the workforce. Scott Valley Family Resource Center helps individuals in identifying, linking, and accessing resources that help improve their economic, physical, mental and social wellbeing.

We invite you to visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/scottvalleyfamilyresourcceenter and website at www.siskiyoucrc.org/scott-valley to find out more about our programs and services. On December 3, 2024 when you go on-line to give at https://www.northstategives.org/organization/Scott-Valley-Family-Resource-Center please support the Scott Valley Family Resource Center with a donation that is meaningful to you. Your contribution will help us continue to offer programs and services that make a difference in the lives of our community members.

 With Gratitude,
